| So what's a Coffee Klatch? Well, the American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language: Fourth Edition (2000) defines it as "a casual social gathering for coffee and conversation." Abby's version of a klatch is an intimate book signing where readers can sit down in an informal setting, enjoy some tasty treats, chat with her about her book and ministry, ask questions, and have their books signed. | Coffee Klatch Q&A How does this differ from a book signing? At a regular book signing, Abby would sit at a table or booth, sign books for people standing in line, and briefly answer their questions. Either option is fine. It's just a matter of which one you prefer. When you send the e-mail request, just be sure to specify whether you want a signing or a klatch. How far will Abby travel? As far as you like. Travel costs outside of Milwaukee county (and lodging if overnight stay is required) will need to be provided by the hosting group. Is there a minimum number of people? Yes, there should be at least 10 people. |

| How do I get the books? Individual participants may purchase their own books, or submit their payments to the klatch coordinator, who can order them all at once. Books can be purchased at buybooksontheweb.com. How do I coordinate a klatch? 1) Sign up participants: friends, family, and members of your church, community , or book club. 2) When you have at least 10 people, e-mail your request. Include possible dates, as well as your location. Allow 3-4 weeks from the date of the e-mail to the date of the klatch so that you will have time to order and receive your books. 3) Once you receive your initial e-mail, any travel costs (outside of Milwaukee county) will be discussed. If these costs are agreed upon, you will then receive a confirmation e-mail stating which date Abby can appear. 4) Order your books. 5) When the big day (and Abby) arrives, settle back with friends, refreshments, a good book, and enjoy! Will I get any promotional material for my klatch? Yes. You will receive 5 Coffee Klatch flyers with your klatch date, location, and time listed on them. Distribute them in your church or community. Do I really need to serve coffee? No, but it's a good idea to serve something: juice, water, soda, tea, and some sort of light refreshment. It enhances the intimate atmosphere and makes it more enjoyable. You can even make it a luncheon if you like. If Abby is already speaking at my church service, conference, retreat, or workshop, can she do a klatch or book signing? Yes, just mention it in your engagement request. |
